We’re a local group of believers who come from all walks of life, locals, visitors, families, singles, retirees, and everyone in between. Whether you are dressed in flip-flops or Sunday best, you are welcome here. Come as you are.

Our story began as a mission church of First Baptist Church of Panama City. We first gathered in the hallway of the old skating rink here in Mexico Beach. In June 1986, First Baptist purchased the land where our church now stands, and construction began shortly after. Our first pastor, Lee Shepherd, helped lead us through those early days.
Through the years, we’ve faithfully ministered to the Mexico Beach community, standing strong through challenging seasons like Hurricane Michael in 2018—after which we became a distribution center for nearly two years—and the COVID epidemic, during which we never closed our doors.
Now, as we enter a new season, we are excited to see God’s hand continue to move powerfully in our community.
We’re also grateful for the leaders God has called to serve here. Our lead pastor, Matthew Watkins, recently joined us from Memphis, Tennessee, bringing a heart for Christ and a passion for people. Our associate pastor, Daniel Johnson, serves both our church and our nation through his role in the U.S. Air Force at nearby Tyndall AFB.
